Why I Chose the UPMC ,General Surgery Residency Program

UPMC checked all my boxes when I was interviewing for residency!  Every division within the Department of Surgery is extremely strong and provide great clinical and research opportunities. The clinical volume is both high and diverse when it comes to both patient population and complexity. Most importantly every resident and faculty member I met clearly loved being at UPMC! Dr. Lee is an amazing program director and his dedication to us goes above and beyond what I ever expected.

Non-Academic Accomplishments

I’m originally from Morocco so the beach is my favorite place ever (Pittsburgh’s a little far but it just makes it that much more special!). I enjoy running, yoga, and am part of the peloton craze. On my days off I also like to explore the countless restaurants Pittsburgh has to offer with my co-residents!
