Why I Chose the University of Pittsburgh

The people and the program sold me. I almost cancelled my interview because I did not think I wanted to come back to the cold weather for residency. Also, I now live close to the majority of my family members, which will be such a blessing throughout my years of training.

Non-Academic Accomplishments

I don't have any special talents, but I love being outside. There is a great biking trail downtown called the riverfront trail, which takes you down to the stadiums and the point (where the three rivers meet). You can also go kayaking on the rivers.  For a random tidbit, if I could eat one thing the rest of my life, it would be apples. Specifically, fuji apples. There is a great apple orchard near my parent's house in Wexford, PA called Soergel's where you can buy a bushel of apples at a time. I will be stocking up once apple season hits!
