Why I Chose the University of Pittsburgh

I knew going into the residency application process that I wanted to match to a program with breadth and depth of both clinical volume and research opportunities.  UPMC goes above and beyond in satisfying both of those criteria, especially the latter, with one of the most structured and thoughtful approaches to guiding its residents into the research years among any of its peer programs. I was also struck by the warmth the program manages to exude without lowering its expectations of trainees.

Non-Academic Accomplishments

My extracurricular life is decidedly less epic than that of many of my colleagues, but when not at work, I enjoy watching documentaries, spending time with friends, and working out (on occasion).
