Billiar Lab Researchers Win Shock Conference Awards

 

Congratulations to Danielle Gruen, Ashley Lamparello (both T32 postdoctoral fellows), and Yiming Li (Visiting Scholar) from the Billiar Lab, who have won awards for their abstracts to be presented at the 42nd Annual Conference on Shock in Coronado, CA, June 8-11, 2019.  

Danielle and Yiming won travel awards for their respective abstracts “Early Circulating Cytokines in Severely-Injured Trauma Patients are Associated with Distinct Clinical Outcomes and Responsiveness to Prehospital Plasma” and "TLR9 Signaling in Fibroblastic Reticular Cells Regulates Peritoneal Immunity." Each award is in the amount of $1,000 for conference travel expenses and will be presented to Danielle and Yiming at a banquet on Sunday evening, June 9, 2019. 

Ashley is a finalist for the New Investigator Award for her abstract "An Aging-Related Single Nucleotide Polymorphism is Associated with Distinct Inflammatory Profiles in Aged Blunt Trauma Patients.” The first-place winner will be announced at the conference. Each finalist will be recognized with a plaque, a cash award (first place $650, other finalists $350), and a travel grant of $1,000.
